Day 50: John 14:25 – 30

When I watch as my children parent their children, I see them guide and direct.  They know their children intimately, when they are hungry, or tired, or when they need to be pushed or held back.  Sometimes their children just cry because they don’t know what they need or want.  There are even times when the children just need a hug and to be comforted.

This passage gives us great peace because we have a Heavenly Father who knew that we would need the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us, to comfort us, to give us wisdom and understanding, and even to make intercession for us when we don’t know what to pray.

Question:

How have you seen the Holy Spirit work in your life to teach, motivate, or comfort?

Prayer:

Father, thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit.  Help me to recognize when you are leading me and motivate me to follow your direction.  Teach me to comfort others as you have comforted me.
