Adult Spiritual Formation

On Sunday, September 9, at 10:00 am, we begin a new All-Church study called The Gospel Project. The Gospel Project is a nationally recognized curriculum that focuses on understanding the main themes of the Bible using a historical walk through. Learn how Jesus and his Good News is found throughout all the Scriptures. Adults will begin in fellowship hall for a short large group teaching, then break into small groups for discussion. Children’s classes have already begun to use the material. Children and youth will continue to meet separately from adults but will study the same topics as adults each Sunday. One of the attractive elements of The Gospel Project is the uniform topics across all ages because it will facilitate family discussion.

Our tutoring ministry at Pleasant Hill Academy starts in October, with training October 9. If you are interested, please contact Colleen Scheid at the tutoring table in the atrium or call 513-505-9826. We’re looking for committed people who like children aged 6-12, to help with reading, prayer and Bible discussion and to be a constant reliable presence for one child at a time. We also need drivers and a snack helper. This is a CHPC ministry, but we partner with City Gospel Mission, so you will fill out an application form at their website.

WOVEN is the Women’s Discipleship Ministry of CHPC. We are committed to community, depth, discipleship and love in Christ. We are desiring to be safe places where women can find community with other believers; grow deeper in their understanding of who God is and the Scriptures, be in discipleship relationships with women who encourage, teach and minister alongside them. So that they may share their faith wherever God has called them. For more information contact Janet Dumford or 513-541-8281.

WOVEN Study Group – Have you heard about “kol d’mama daka?” Did you know that Jesus offered us a “sulha?” The Hebrew word for cursed is “arur.” Do you know what the fruit of an Arar tree looks like? All of these questions will be answered in our study of Beth Guckenberger’s book, “Start With Amen.” You will also hear Beth’s stories about raising a foster daughter, how a Mexican orphanage ministry began and what happened when she yielded to the temptation to buy a $200 purse. These stories and many more will make you laugh and make you cry! This group will meet beginning the week of September 17th, but additional details depend on YOU – please sign up in the Atrium or call Anita Shoemaker (513-578-0916) for more information.

Sign-up for the Women’s Retreat, led by Colleen Scheid, in the Atrium today. $30/ person. Limited space available. Retreat is October 12 & 13, at The Springs Retreat Center in Oldenburg, Indiana. Contact Janet Dumford, 513-541-8281 or
