Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your church located?

We are located at 5742 Hamilton Ave. 45224 in College Hill. If you need help finding the church or want to find a ride, contact the church!

What should I wear?

The short answer is, whatever makes you comfortable!  You’ll find people come dressed in all sorts of ways.  You will see a couple of suits, but most people dress from casual (jeans and t-shirt) to business casual (polo or dress shirt.)  No matter how you dress, you’ll fit in at College Hill Presbyterian!

Where should I go once I’m there?

Our parking lot is located right off of Hamilton Ave.   Once you’ve parked, most people use the entrance that faces the parking lot which leads into our atrium.  If you have children that need to be taken to the nursery, one of our greeters can point you towards the children’s wing of the building.  If you’re ready to go into the sanctuary, you can get there by walking straight through the atrium (and stop for coffee and donuts on the way there!)

Is there something for children?

If you have children, you may want to arrive a few minutes before services begin.  We have childcare available at all times on Sunday morning, there is a check-in desk that will take a minute if it is your first time.  If your child is age 0 to pre-kindergarten, they will go straight to childcare before the service.  Older children will start out by going to the service with you and will be dismissed for Children and Worship (K-3rd) before the sermon.  Children 4th grade and older attend the entire service.  All employees and volunteers in the children’s ministry have had police background checks and our helpers will notify you if there is any kind of problem during the service.

What are the differences between the two services?

The primary difference between the two services is music.  The non-musical elements of the two services sometimes vary with the earlier service tending towards a more formal worship and the later service typically providing a more casual atmosphere.

The traditional service at 9:00 am offers hymns sung by a choir and accompanied by piano, organ, and occasional woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.

The contemporary service at 11:00 am is mostly newer music led by a band of guitar, piano, bass, drums, and occasionally a few other instruments.  The non-musical elements of the two services sometimes vary with the earlier service tending towards a more formal worship and the later service typically providing a more casual atmosphere.

What is “Community Hour”?

Community hour is what we offer on most Sundays from 10 – 10:50 am.  Children can attend Sunday School classes while parents and other individuals can select from a variety of classes.  To see the current classes being offered, look at our calendar. For those who don't want to take a class, we have premium coffee and a wide selection of food with chairs, tables, and couches so you can spend some time alone or in community with others.

What does your church believe?

We are Christian, Presbyterian, and a part of the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians.  For an in-depth view of our beliefs, read them here.
