Ministry Staff

  • Rev. Dr. Drew Smith – Senior Pastor

Drew has been Pastor at College Hill Presbyterian since 2007 where he considers it a real joy to journey with a multicultural community helping one another live for Jesus. Drew grew up in Vestavia Hills, a suburb south of Birmingham, Alabama. While a student in Mrs. Steps’ Third-grade class, he met a fellow student, Cathy Pritchard. It was not love at first sight but eventually did lead to marriage in 1987 and continues today having produced three children – Hannah, Clara and Nate. Drew thought he was going to work in medicine as a biomedical engineer but God re-directed his path into full-time ministry with Young Life (a high school ministry) and then Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois just north of Chicago. He has pastored in three other churches: Oxford Presbyterian, Oxford, PA (1991 – 1993); Westminster Presbyterian, Charlotte, NC (1993 – 2001); and Central Presbyterian, Mobile, AL (2001- 2006). He recently completed a Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministry Leadership at North Park Seminary in Chicago. On a perfect day, Drew, with friends and family, would be enjoying hot tea (preferably Darjeeling) with homemade buttermilk biscuits and local honey followed by some reading and hiking. The afternoon would include ice tea (preferably half sweet/half unsweet) with homegrown tomato salad followed by an afternoon of water skiing. Then as the sun set, the fish would be on the grill with some long-sliced zucchini and yellow squash. The evening would conclude on the porch, overlooking the lake enjoying some of grandma’s banana pudding. What a wonderful day.

  • Rev. Jennifer Cronk – Assistant Pastor of Children & Families

Jennifer loves showing families the beauty of the Gospel. Her undergraduate education in Child & Family Studies, and graduate work in Educational Ministry, combined with a lifetime of watching her teacher-mom open minds, has put a passion in her heart to see the stories of the Bible brought to life in children’s hearts. Whether it’s writing curriculum, training ministry volunteers, or developing relationships with families, Jennifer’s 20 years of experience have taught her that children thrive most when parents are the primary faith-builders in their lives. Partnering with parents to raise kids deeply in love with Jesus is her most beloved job responsibility.  Finding books for her Little Free Library, going on adventures, decorating her 100-year-old house, watching This Is Us, photography, and writing poetry bring her joy. She counts her greatest life accomplishment as holding a baby puffin in Scotland.

  • Samuel Mock – Director of Next Generation and Streaming Ministries

Samuel grew up in Bardstown, KY and moved here from Lexington, KY. He’s graduated from Liberty University, with his Masters of Divinity in 2022. Great mentors poured into Samuel when he was in a youth group and he desires to extend that intentional care and attention here at CHPC. He loves to help people discover their gifts and pursue the call God has on their life. Most recently, Samuel was a small group leader in Southland Christian Church’s youth ministry, and helped lead a young singles ministry called T.N.D. in Lexington. His role in T.N.D. was content coordinator, meaning he created bible lessons and other means of education for the groups members. Samuel loves sports (basketball, football, bowling, etc.), being outdoors, a good movie and coffee. Fun fact, Samuel writes spoken word poetry and has a twin brother. His favorite food group is queso!

  • heather lethander

    Director of operations

Heather is originally from Bay Village, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland which is where she met her husband, Charlie when he moved into the community in the 6th grade. She spied him in band class (he played drums, she played clarinet). They began dating in the 11th grade and were married just after college. They have two sons, Eric and Matthew, who are both “adulting” now, who live and work in Houston, TX.

Heather and Charlie joined CHPC in 1989, and have loved the people and the vision of the church as it has changed over the years. Heather received a BS degree in Organizational Communication and Industrial Psychology (which is what they used to call HR) from Purdue University and worked for Fifth Third Bank until she “retired” to raise the kids.

When not working, Heather loves to cook and travel. She frequently is trying out new recipes on her friends and family. It’s too bad she doesn’t really love to exercise with all that food around! She and Charlie travel around the world, and especially love cruises!

  • Shannon Caton

    Director of 3C’s Nursery School

Shannon grew up in Youngstown Ohio but came to the University of Cincinnati for college. While in college she received degrees in elementary education, psychology, and a masters in education. She also met her husband Eric while in College. She started her teaching career in 1999 at Chase Elementary in Northside, and then was at St Clare School until it was closed. Always teaching 3rd grade or higher she never anticipated working at a preschool. However, in 2006 St. Clare closed its doors and several people told her she should interview for 3C’s. She walked across the parking lot and fell in love with the community! She spent 6 years teaching PK/K, and is now been the director for 3 years. During her time at 3C’s she has had 3 bio children and has adopted one child. All the children enjoyed their time at 3C’s! She is very much in love with the Christ-centered community and has seen the people within grow and take Christ outside the walls. She hopes to be here for many more years! Shannon enjoys walking, reading, writing, and driving her 4 kids places.
