AUGUST IS AWESOME! Somehow, today on August 1st, the weather is beautiful - cooler than yesterday, nice breeze, lower humidity. It might not last, but I am truly thanking God for the beautiful weather today! As families try to squeeze in all the fun activities before school begins again, at CHPC, we are turning our eyes towards the upcoming school year with anticipation, and praying how we as a church community can positively impact our students and families, as they go into the next school year. We are getting ready with Whiz Kids, to make sure that kids have a strong foundation in reading skills and basic math, teaming up with Brain Balance to get good coping skills, celebrating the end of summer with ice cream sandwiches, and having our annual picnic and worship (relocated to our shady lawn right here at CHPC). Grab your calendars and plan to bring some friends! |

What is Whiz Kids? Whiz Kids is a one-on-one tutoring ministry for K-5 students focused on literacy, relationships, and faith. In partnership with City Gospel Mission and made possible by the generous support of the CHPC community, Whiz Kids brings hope and help to College Hill Academy students through weekly tutoring and caring adult relationships. This Fall, we will be partnering with College Hill Academy as well as our students who have been participating from Pleasant Hill. We are praying for 32 tutors to come alongside these kids and help change their lives! Get more information: www.chpc.org/whiz-kids |

Whiz Kids Scholarships We offer the Whiz Kids program every week for most of the school year (September through April) at no cost to the school or the children and their families. In order to do that, we rely on financial support from our CHPC congregation. Our goal is to raise $3,800 in scholarship support for this ministry. What does your investment cover?

Make sure to check out the sign up sheet for what items you can contribute to the Potluck Picnic lunch. CHPC will provide the main dish.
