Kingdom Prayer Chain

This is a time when Jesus’ people need to let his light shine through them on this troubled world. It is a time when our own helplessness and the need for our Father’s strength and wisdom have become abundantly clear. So, although we cannot join hands physically, join hands with us in spirit as we pray to our God together.

When you receive an e-vite to join the Kingdom Prayer Chain through Sign-up Genius, please choose a 30-minute prayer time, one day a week from Holy Week through the end of April. The first person in the chain will pray for 20 minutes individually (with God’s leading) and then call the second person on the chain. For the next 10 minutes, he/she will share insights from his/her prayer experience, and then they will pray for each other’s requests. The second person will then have 20 minutes of individual prayer time before calling the third person on the chain and repeating the process. There will be 5 people in each chain. Prayer/Scripture suggestions will be provided for those who would like to use them.

Example:

8:00-8:20 Pam prays individually.

8:20-8:30 Pam calls Melynie, and they pray together.

8:30-8:50 Melynie prays individually.

8:50-9:00 Melynie calls Tom, and they pray together.

And so on…

After talking to your prayer partners, you may decide that instead of talking on the phone, you want to Zoom, Facetime, text, talk across the fence (from 6 feet away, of course), etc. Find a mode of communication that works best to unite us in Christ.

Under normal circumstances, such a prayer chain would be nearly impossible. The Governor's COVID-19 order has made it easier...needful...and a great opportunity for our part of the Body of Christ to connect...to share joys, challenges, praises and concerns. It's a chance to live out Jesus' teachings in Matthew 18:18-20 (MSG):

18-20 “Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”
