Hungry?

This Sunday, we explored the fourth item on Jesus's Blessed List: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. If you didn't get to listen or watch, you can check it out here. What a great promise that our longing for righteousness will one day be fulfilled. We will be satisfied. So, as you follow Jesus today and every day, what you do that aligns with God's Kingdom and Righteousness will be completed. The effort will be commensurate with the results. In other words, you won't be wasting your time and energy. Keep on pursuing God's righteousness and utlimately you will be satisfied.
Maybe you are wondering, "What does righteousness in God's Kingdom mean?" That's a great question. Here is a short video to help us all understand the Biblical meaning of righteousness.
Our challenge this week is to explore what we hunger and thirst for. What gets you up in the morning? What motivates your actions during the day? Many of us hunger and thirst for control or convenience or comfort. Which of these motivate you? Or is there something else? Jesus tells us that we are fortunate if we desire to have right relationships with God and one another. Take this week to read through the Sermon on the Mount and consider what are life's core motivations for you?
Grace and Peace,
Drew
