March Meekness

In the season of March Madness, we are celebrating March Meekness. Thanks to the clever one who shared this timely title. Some may think of meekness as weakness, but the Scriptures say just the opposite.
Number 12:3 – Moses is called very meek. He does not respond with defensiveness when others criticize him.
James 1:16-22 – We are charged to receive God’s word with meekness. Being quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, we receive God’s word with meekness. The meek are ready to do what God says.
James 3:13-18 – Wisdom is meek. Read the passage to find out what meekness is and isn’t.
Galatians 6:1–2 - Many times, meekness is translated as gentleness. In this passage, Paul charges us to restore a fallen brother with meekness. When we are meek, we bear one another’s burdens.
Today, look for ways to exhibit the Lord's meekness—avoid defensiveness, keep a close eye on your anger, and treat others with gentleness. In times of disagreement, be open to reason. Consider Jesus’ meekness toward you as you bear one another’s burdens.
Grace and Peace,
Drew
