October Events at CHPC

October

Welcome to my favorite month! I love the cooler days and nights - getting to sleep with the windows open, and hearing the crunch of fallen leaves under my feet while I walk. It always seems like the sky is such a beautiful blue and you can enjoy it without all the typical humidity of our summers.

I'm excited to get back into long pants and sweaters and drink hot chocolate, and don't get me started on apple cider donuts! I don't even really like donuts, but somehow I can never pass up the chance for an apple cider donut dusted in cinnamon sugar.

Take a minute to review the different events taking place at CHPC and around the community this month! We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved, or to bring a friend who wants to check us out!

Jesus University is a ballet and mentor program for girls aged 6-18 that was started (in partnership with City Gospel Mission) at CHPC in 2015 with 14 girls, and has now grown to serve 43 girls in two separate ballet classes. Our dancers are mostly from College Hill, and the majority of our girls could not otherwise afford private dance lessons.

Our goal is to make ballet accessible and affordable for the families we serve. Through instruction and mentoring, we help girls build character, self-esteem, discipline, and a love of dance. We also strive to connect our families to Jesus and to CHPC.

When you sponsor a Jesus University dancer, you’re giving a young girl a chance to grow into who God made her to be.
