Rodney Barbour to present "Prelude at the Manger"

Rodney Barbour is a concert organist performing in 42 states and all provinces of Canada.  Rodney is an accomplished keyboard musician in many styles accompanying choir, soloists and playing for worship services as well as entertainment venues when opportunities present themselves.

Among his credits are eleven years as organist for the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball Team and ten years as an organist at the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ of Cincinnati’s Springdale Music Palace.   Rodney is also a “writer” and “arranger” with published articles in various church music periodicals and published organ arrangements with Concordia Publishing, Hope Publishing and Lifeway. Rodney’s background includes degrees in Music Education and Trombone (Marshall University), Organ Performance (Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music), and additional study at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Rodney served as Assistant Minister of Music and Organist at College Hill Presbyterian from 1977 through 1984.  He is currently beginning his twentieth year as Director of Worship and Arts at Crestview Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Ohio.

On Sunday, January 5th, at 3pm, Mr. Barbour will present "Prelude at the Manger", an organ concert at College Hill Presbyterian Church. All are welcome to attend! Rodney Barbour has prepared this unique collection of organ pieces to offer a joyous reflection on Jesus Christ’s incarnation as well as a time to enjoy many of the beautiful sounds of College Hill Presbyterian’s Schantz-Allen Digital Pipe Organ.

Plan now to join in this time of worship, reflection, remembrance and laughter! There is a wonderful lyric at the close of the hymn “Love Divine All Loves Excelling, joy of heav’n to earth come down” which reads “lost in wonder, love and praise”.

(P.S. Even if you are not a “fan” of organ music, you will enjoy this time together!).
