Who has the God of mercy put on your bookshelf?

As mentioned yesterday, mercy is getting what we don't deserve from God to give others what they don't deserve. Take some time today to consider how you can provide others with what they don't deserve - pay for their meal in the drive-through line, open a door, share an umbrella, or listen to their story. Or, you may be wronged or offended by another person today. Instead of reacting in frustration or anger, take some time to engage with them mercifully. "You seem preoccupied with something. How is your day going?" Maybe that will open the door to simply hearing and empathizing with their story. Do they deserve this care? No, they don't. Just like we don't deserve God's mercy, you never know what someone's story is and how you can be a messenger from God. Check out this video that reminds us that everyone has a story.
If someone asks, why you are asking them how they are doing or why you bought their meal, tell them that God gives you mercy and you want to pass it on to others.
Practice Mercy,
