On Palm Sunday, we celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem the Sunday before his resurrection. Crowds welcomed him by waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna!” Mentioned in each of the four Gospels, the Bible story of Palm Sunday tells us that Jesus entered the city knowing He would be tried and crucified and welcomed His fate to rise from the grave and save us from sin! Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the remembrance of Jesus' last days, and reminds us to open our hearts to Jesus and commit to following Him.
On Palm Sunday, we experience the turbulent tension just below the surface concerning Jesus. The crown celebrates while the religious and government leaders grow in distrust and disdain. As the week progresses, the disdain and distrust gain influence.
